Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The VA intends to award this contract directly to Industrial Maintenance Services Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), without competitive bidding. The work encompasses comprehensive construction services including architectural, structural, fire protection, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical upgrades. The sole-source approach is being utilized under the Veterans First Contracting Program authority (38 U.S.C. 8127(c)), which allows direct contracting with SDVOSBs or VOSBs to support veteran-owned businesses. While this is not a request for proposals, any responsible contractor who believes they can meet the requirements may submit a capability statement to megan.dohm@va.gov by September 23, 2025, at 9:00 AM Eastern Time. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with the sole-source award or open the requirement to competition based on responses received. Contractors should note that no proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in their capability statements. The government emphasizes that this notice does not guarantee a contract award and that they will not compensate contractors for any information provided in response to this announcement.
