About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Joint Base San Antonio is seeking industry input on novel approaches to modernizing Department of Defense (DoD) cryptographic capabilities through a Request for Information (RFI). This RFI is specifically issued by the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNCA) and aims to identify innovative strategies for addressing current capability gaps in cryptographic technologies. The RFI is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause 52.215-3 and is designed purely for information gathering purposes, not as a formal solicitation. Interested industry participants must complete a nondisclosure agreement and submit their responses via email to aflcmc.cryptologic.transformation@us.af.mil no later than close of business on March 31, 2025. Participation in the RFI is voluntary, and respondents will not be compensated for their submissions.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations and does not provide details about potential award values or contract budgets. The RFI requires strict confidentiality, with contractors prohibited from sharing received documentation with foreign governments and bound by export control regulations under the Arms Export Control Act and Export Control Reform Act of 2018. Contractors must use the provided information solely for responding to government requirements and are obligated to destroy all documentation upon completion of work. The documentation will be distributed to requestors only after approval and submission of the required nondisclosure agreement. While this RFI does not guarantee future contract opportunities, it represents a strategic approach by the Air Force to engage industry partners in developing advanced cryptographic capabilities for national defense.
