About this opportunity

This Limited / Sole Source Justification Notice was published by the Department of the Interior National Park Service National Office on April 14, 2021. It provides justification for awarding a sole source contract to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to repair and replace 5.1 miles (26,928 lineal feet) of 70kV transmission line at Yosemite National Park that provides power to areas including Yosemite Valley. Condition assessments showed the 1954 towers and 324 insulator and conductor components were no longer code compliant, so critical repairs and replacement were required. As the utility with technical expertise, experience working in the park, and ownership of the connecting substation and transmission lines approaching the park boundary, PG&E was uniquely qualified to complete the repairs. The contract was awarded sole source to PG&E on April 2, 2021 for an unknown amount.
