About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to install safety barriers and modify entrance/exit gates at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center parking garage. The purpose is to address suicide prevention by prohibiting access and installing rigid fencing, flexible wire mesh, and reconfiguring the exit gate. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, permits and supervision to complete the construction work according to the project drawings and specifications by 140 days from notice to proceed. The estimated value is between $500,000 to $1,000,000. The invitation for bids will be issued on December 2, 2020 with bids due within 30-45 days. Requests for solicitation documents must be submitted by December 12 at 12:00 PM EST.

There are no set-aside designations for this requirement, which is fully open to competitive bidding. Given the construction work required, the primary NAICS code would likely be 238990 for all other specialty trade contractors. The PSC code would correspond to construction services. As the work is being conducted at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, the incumbent contractor may be the current maintenance provider for that facility. The project value is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000 with all work to be completed within 140 days of notice to proceed.
