About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 is seeking a contractor to renovate metal building 115 at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, which sustained fire damage and requires comprehensive repair. The project involves providing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to restore the pre-engineered metal building in accordance with a forthcoming Statement of Work. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is scheduled to be posted on May 13, 2025, with responses due on the same date, targeting contractors who can complete the renovation efficiently and effectively. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, contractors will need to demonstrate technical capability and compliance with renovation requirements. Potential bidders must carefully review the upcoming solicitation documents and ensure they meet all specified conditions.
The contract is exclusively set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) under NAICS code 236220, with a small business size standard of $45 million. The project's estimated value ranges between $250,000 and $500,000, representing a moderate-sized renovation opportunity. Critically, all offerors must obtain verification from the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) and be both VISIBLE and VERIFIED on VetCert prior to offer submission, with failure to meet these requirements resulting in an automatic non-responsive proposal. Contractors interested in bidding must proactively contact the CVE and submit required documentation to establish their SDVOSB status. The point of contact for this project is Tailor Brown, who can be reached at tailor.brown2@va.gov for any additional inquiries or clarifications.
