About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2, is conducting a sole-source procurement for dead leg removal services from the Station Sterile Processing System, with a capabilities statement deadline of October 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST. The VA intends to award to American Standard Group LLC under 41 U.S.C. 253-c-1, citing sole-source authority based on urgency, precision requirements, contamination risks from improper handling, and the need for continuity in technique and safety standards. The VA asserts that onboarding a new contractor introduces unacceptable risk of system compromise, extended downtime, and disruption to SPS operations, and that no other contractors can feasibly perform the work without significant safety, quality, and operational risks. Interested parties must submit written capabilities statements by the October 13 deadline providing clear and unambiguous evidence of capability to perform the required services; verbal responses are not acceptable. The period of performance runs 60 calendar days from notice to proceed. The Government reserves discretion to determine whether to compete the requirement or proceed with sole-source negotiation with American Standard Group LLC following the capabilities statement deadline.
