About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command awarded contract FA302925C0005 to WALDROP CONSTRUCTION INC for $437,129.23 on September 24, 2025, for the renovation of building 527 at Vance Air Force Base to create compliant ammunition and explosives (AA&E) storage facilities. The project involves reinforcing the existing AA&E storage room by adding steel and plywood layers to interior walls and ceiling, replacing the entry door with a compliant version, installing tamper-resistant window fasteners, and relocating electrical circuits to improve emergency personnel access. The renovations are required to meet UFC 04-026-01 and MIL-HNDBK 1013/1A standards, ensuring the facility can provide minimum 10-minute forced entry resistance against threat severity level III for storing AA&E Risk Categories II through IV. This work was designated as a total small business set-aside and addresses safety compliance issues that would pose potential risks to the base if left unresolved.
