About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration has issued a Special Notice regarding a lease acquisition for the Raleigh Vet Center located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The notice announces the agency's intent to award a succeeding lease using other than full and open competition for an existing facility. The current lease is set to expire on August 14, 2025, and the VA is seeking a new lease arrangement for administrative space. The required space is specifically 4,592 rentable square feet within a defined geographic area bounded by Glenwood Ave, Aviation Parkway, Route 540, and Globe Road. The VA is part of Veterans Integrated Service Network 6, a civilian agency focused on providing services to veterans.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to secure a long-term lease for the Raleigh Vet Center, with a proposed 20-year term consisting of a 10-year firm fixed price period and additional one-year soft terms. Occupancy is required on or before October 1, 2024, and all services, supplies, utilities, and tenant alterations must be included in the rental consideration. While the VA currently intends to pursue a sole source lease with the existing lessor at 8851 Ellstree Lane, Suite 122, they are open to alternative spaces if economically advantageous. Potential lessors are invited to submit expressions of interest, with the preferred method of communication being email to Barry Butler, the Lease Contracting Officer, at barry.butler2@va.gov. All responses must be submitted by December 20, 2024, and the agency will carefully consider factors such as moving costs and tenant improvements when making their final decision.
