About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Construction and Equipment is seeking information regarding wood products procurement for its West Region, including lumber, plywood, scaffold planks, and line construction poles across 23 distinct product line items. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued as part of DLA's planning for a follow-on Tailored Logistics Support Program (TLSP) contract, with the current contract set to expire in September 2026. The government is conducting market research to understand industry practices, vendor capabilities, and product availability, requesting detailed responses on distribution capabilities, customer bases, potential supply challenges, infrastructure requirements, lead times, and minimum order quantities. All pricing will be based on truckload quantities with FOB Destination delivery requirements. The response deadline for the RFI is December 12, 2025, and the government has indicated a tentative presolicitation conference is planned for March 2026.
This procurement opportunity carries a 100% Small Business Set Aside designation, restricting competition to qualifying small business entities. The current Wood Products Tailored Logistics Support Contract (TLSC) for the West Region serves as the incumbent contract, which expires in September 2026. Estimated annual demand varies significantly by product line item, ranging from approximately 6 to 467,917 board feet or sheets depending on the specific wood product. The RFI solicitation will require vendors to demonstrate capability to serve 16 West Region delivery locations, spanning Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, and international locations including Guam, Japan, and Korea. While the RFI does not provide specific contract value information, the substantial demand quantities and multi-location geographic footprint indicate a significant procurement requirement for qualified small business wood products suppliers.
