About this opportunity
The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking a contractor to perform comprehensive plumbing repair services at the Wind River Experimental Forest (WREF) PNW 1 facility. The project involves replacing leaking hot and cold-water lines across two floors totaling 1,858 square feet, with specific focus on water line replacement in two upstairs bathrooms, the water heater, kitchen restroom, basement water lines, and exposed hose bibs. Work requirements include demolition, material removal, plumbing, fixture replacement, water line insulation, ceiling tile replacement, and wall surface restoration, with the understanding that non-leaking water lines can remain in place. While no specific evaluation criteria were detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the project is structured as a call request under an existing blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with the R6 FMAC Parent BPA. The government has indicated this is an informational notice only and not a formal request for quotes.
The opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside with an estimated contract value of less than $25,000. The project is categorized under NAICS code 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction and PSC code Z1AZ for Maintenance of Administrative Facilities. As this is a historic structure, contractors will need to demonstrate sensitivity and expertise in maintaining the building's architectural integrity during repairs. The pre-solicitation notice explicitly states that no new contractors will be added to the existing BPA, suggesting this opportunity is limited to current BPA holders. The posted date for this opportunity is May 30, 2025, though no specific timeline for service completion was provided in the notice.
