The mission is scheduled to begin the week of August 10, 2025, with an expected duration of 45 days, though duration may be shortened or extended as needed.
Key technical scope includes completing an operational risk assessment report with hazard mitigation guidelines, developing a detailed mission plan in cooperation with pilots prior to deployment, performing pre-mission system checks, maintaining navigation control with waypoint navigation and dynamic course adjustments, and sustaining continuous situational awareness of system performance, environmental conditions, and vessel traffic risks. The contractor shall provide pre- and post-launch support, 24-hour navigation and risk mitigation throughout the mission, and recovery support at conclusion.

SOURCES SOUGHT
The US Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing Wave Glider piloting services to support a USGS seafloor geodetic mission as described in the attached Statement of Work.
This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code: 541519, Other Computer Related Services, and associated size standard $16.5 million apply to this announcement, along with Product Service Code: DE10, IT and Telecom - End User as a Service: Help Desk; Tier 1-2,Workspace, Print, Output, Productivity Tools.
