About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command (ACC) is conducting market research to identify testing laboratories capable of analyzing PFAS levels in water filtration systems at Shaw Air Force Base. The research targets labs that can perform quarterly water testing from three specific sample ports of a Purofine PFA694E filtration system. The primary objective is to determine the rate of media exhaustion through comprehensive water quality testing, with precise analysis required from each port on a consistent quarterly basis. While this is currently a pre-solicitation notice, the opportunity is categorized under Testing Laboratories and Services (NAICS 541380) and Water Purification Equipment Testing (PSC H946). The current notice is posted as of December 11, 2024, with a response deadline of January 8, 2025, indicating a structured approach to gathering potential contractor information.
No specific set-aside designation has been applied to this opportunity, suggesting it will be open to a broad range of qualified testing laboratories. The pre-solicitation notice explicitly states that no award will be made from this posting, positioning it purely as a market research exercise to assess vendor capabilities. While specific award values are not disclosed, the requirement for consistent quarterly testing throughout the contract's lifecycle suggests a potentially ongoing engagement. The testing scope involves one sample from each of three ports, implying a total of three water samples per quarterly testing cycle. Interested laboratories should prepare detailed capabilities demonstrating expertise in PFAS level analysis, water filtration system testing, and the ability to maintain consistent testing protocols over an extended contract period.
Notice text
Shaw AFB installed a water filtration system which utilizes Purofine PFA694E. The base is performing market research to determine the availability of testing labs who can perform an analysis for PFAS levels for unfinished water withdrawn from 3 sample ports of the filtration system to determine the rate of exhaustion for the media. Testing shall be performed quarterly with 1 sample from each port. Testing shall be consistent throughout the life of the contract.
This is not for a solicitation. There will be no award made from this posting.
