About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles is conducting market research to identify domestic suppliers capable of producing polyester microfiber washcloths for military personnel use. This Sources Sought Notice seeks to identify possible vendors for terry microfiber cloth constructed from 100 percent polyester with specific technical specifications including dimensions of 12.25 inches by 12.25 inches, a weight of 12.50 ounces per square yard, and Brown 436 coloring. The washcloths must meet rigorous physical performance requirements including a minimum bursting strength of 90 psi, specific colorfastness standards across multiple exposure types, shrinkage limits not exceeding 4.0 percent after five laundry cycles, and soil release ratings of not less than "4" using AATCC Stain Release Replicas. Interested contractors must contact Vincent Davis at Vincent.Davis@dla.mil prior to April 10, 2026, to express their capability and interest. This notice emphasizes that the government is conducting market research only and is under no obligation to issue a solicitation or make any purchase; however, any resulting solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov.
This is a Sources Sought Notice with no set-aside designation, meaning all qualified contractors regardless of business size or ownership may respond. No incumbent contractor or current award value has been identified in this market research phase, as the government is still assessing domestic supplier availability and capacity. The specific quantity of washcloths required and the total contract value have not been disclosed in this notice, as this preliminary research phase precedes formal solicitation. The product must comply with Berry Amendment requirements, meaning materials must be domestically sourced and the fabric production must occur within the United States. Prospective offerors should note that the government will not compensate respondents for information provided in response to this Sources Sought Notice, and that any future formal solicitation will require monitoring of SAM.gov for official postings and submission deadlines.
