This RFI is classified under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and is being administered by the FDA Office of Acquisition and Grant Services. The RFI explicitly is not a solicitation and does not commit the government to award a contract; responses will be used solely for market research purposes to inform future procurement strategy. Contractors interested in responding must submit their information electronically to Nina Montgomery at nina.montgomery@fda.hhs.gov with a deadline of March 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST, with the RFI number referenced in the subject line.
The FDA intends to gather market intelligence to develop a potential 5-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a 1-year base period and four optional 1-year renewal periods for comprehensive maintenance and support services across seven FDA food testing laboratories in Arkansas, Colorado, New York, California, Washington, and Georgia. Eligible contractors must demonstrate OEM relationships with BioMerieux, possess ISO 17025 compliance experience, provide factory-certified technicians, and commit to specific service requirements including at least one annual preventive maintenance visit per instrument, calibration services with certificates, on-site repairs with a maximum 72-hour response time, and unlimited technical support during standard business hours. Responding contractors should provide company information, DUNS/CAGE codes, evidence of OEM authorization, technician qualifications and geographic distribution, ISO 17025 compliance credentials, response time capabilities, parts management policies excluding salvaged parts, and documented past performance on similar contracts. The scope of services covers preventive maintenance, calibration, repair, technical support, parts and labor, and software upgrades for multiple VITEK system models including Compact 15, Compact 30, Compact 60, MS PLUS, APS One, MYLA, and PREVI Color Systems.
