About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps, specifically Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), is conducting market research to procure 50 Vibratory Compactors for ground and aviation construction support. These compactors are critical for various engineering tasks including road construction, airfield complex development, dam building, and site preparation. The Request for Information (RFI) seeks detailed vendor insights into manufacturing capabilities, production rates, and technical specifications. Vendors must submit PDF responses to tommie.klise@usmc.mil by July 15, 2025 at 1400 Eastern Time, with specific cover page requirements. The technical requirements include compaction rates of 1,500-1,700 cubic yards per hour, compatibility with military fuel types, and operational performance in temperatures ranging from -25F to 125F.
The procurement is not set aside for any specific business category, and the contract will be a 5-year Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement. The Marine Corps expects to release the Request for Proposal (RFP) in the 1st Quarter of Fiscal Year 2027, with contract award anticipated in the 3rd Quarter of the same year. Vendors are required to provide information on monthly production rates, vibratory frequency adjustment range, and rough order of magnitude pricing. The compactors must meet stringent transportability requirements, including fitting into C-17 and C-5 aircraft, being sling-loadable by CH-53K helicopters, and capable of multi-modal transportation. While specific award value is not disclosed, the procurement represents a significant investment in military engineering equipment replacement.
