About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure a Vented Cylinder (Left Side) for the Navy's Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment, with National Stock Number 1720-01-285-7189. This Critical Safety Item (CSI) requires manufacturing by NAVAIR approved sources, with manufacturers not currently designated required to submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) Package. The solicitation will be a firm-fixed price contract for 21 units, with potential quantity adjustments up to 24 units. While price will be a significant factor, the final award will be based on a combination of price, delivery, past performance, and other evaluation factors described in the full solicitation. The pre-solicitation notice indicates the solicitation will be available on DIBBS (Defense Internet Bid Board System) on May 26, 2025, with proposals due by June 26, 2025.
The contract is set aside for small businesses and will be located in San Diego, California, with a requested delivery approximately 800 days after award, which includes time for Contractor First Article Testing. The procurement is specifically for a Navy weapon system (82N ALRE) and will require FOB Destination with inspection and acceptance occurring at the contractor's facility. Interested suppliers must submit offers in English and U.S. Dollars, and are advised to update their ORCA (Online Representations and Certifications Application) registration. The procurement may be subject to the Trade Agreements Act of 1979, and while specific contract value is not disclosed, the quantity and specialized nature of the critical safety item suggest a potentially significant contract opportunity for qualified manufacturers in the aircraft parts manufacturing sector.
