About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration is seeking a lodging services contract for veterans and their caregivers near the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The Request for Quote (RFQ) 36C25225Q0199 requires a hotel or motel to provide up to 13 rooms per night from Sunday through Thursday, with occasional weekend availability, located within a 2-mile radius of the medical center. The facility must be a minimum AAA two-diamond or equivalent two-star rated accommodation, offering amenities such as vending machines, coin-operated laundry, and continental breakfast. Proposals are due by March 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM CDT, with vendor questions having been due by March 5, 2025. The VA will evaluate proposals based on technical capability, price, and veteran-owned small business status, with a preference for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.

The solicitation is an unrestricted contract under NAICS code 721110 with a $40 million size standard. The base performance period will run from April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, with four potential one-year option periods available. The VA estimates approximately 18 rooms per week or 80 rooms per month will be needed, with a total contract ceiling of $450,000 and a guaranteed minimum of $300. The contract will be administered through the VA's Great Lakes Acquisition Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, specifically within Veterans Integrated Service Network 12. No specific set-aside has been designated for this procurement, making it open to all qualified vendors who can meet the technical and performance requirements outlined in the solicitation.
