About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Command issued a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice on March 10, 2026, for a Program Management Office (PMO) support contract awarded to DEFTEC Corporation under the "Unusual and Compelling Urgency" authority. The contract, valued between $750,000 and $15 million, provides Advisory and Assistance Services including technical, engineering, and executive staff support for the USSPACECOM Command & Control Facility (C2F) design, construction planning, project execution, and transition-to-occupancy at Redstone Arsenal. The government justified the sole-source award based on an urgent directive from the Secretary of War to establish 50% of USSPACECOM at Redstone Arsenal by October 2028, combined with DEFTEC's satisfactory or higher performance on a similar competitively awarded contract currently in its first option period. The contracting officer determined that competitive procurement would introduce unacceptable delays and mission risk given the short-term nature of the requirement and potential changes in requirements over the next 6-9 months. The contract period runs for 12 months from February 23, 2026, through February 22, 2027, with the government planning a follow-on competitive acquisition for similar services prior to contract expiration.
