About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking suppliers to provide gas turbine uptake parts, specifically gaskets (flat non-metallic), for the USS Mahan (DDG-72) destroyer's Engine Room 1 and 2 gas turbine uptakes. This combined synopsis/solicitation (RFQ N5005425Q0424) is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures for commercial items, with all parts required to be new and no refurbished or used components accepted. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) is requesting responses from qualified sources capable of providing the specific gasket materials identified in the attached Statement of Work. The solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses effective through FAC 2025-06 and DFARS Change Notice 20250910, and will only be available electronically through the System for Award Management at sam.gov or the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment at piee.eb.mil. Responses to this solicitation are due by October 7, 2025, giving potential contractors a brief seven-day response window from the posting date of September 30, 2025.
This procurement opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to qualified small business entities under NAICS code 339991 for Gasket, Packing, and Sealing Device Manufacturing. The solicitation falls under Product Service Code 5330 for Packing and Gasket Materials, indicating the specialized nature of the required components for naval vessel maintenance operations. No information regarding potential incumbents, current contractors, estimated award values, or specific quantities has been disclosed in the solicitation notice. The procurement appears to be focused on supporting maintenance activities for the USS Mahan, a guided-missile destroyer that would require these specialized gasket components for its gas turbine propulsion systems. The timeline and nature of the requirement suggest this is likely a critical maintenance need requiring prompt fulfillment to support naval operations.
