About this opportunity
This Special Notice is related to an Exception to Fair Opportunity for a Pre-Light Off Assessment (LOA) Preventative Maintenance Availability (PMAV) contract for the USS CHARLESTON (LCS-18) in support of its Fiscal Year 2023 Docked Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA). The notice was published by the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to justify the Exception to Fair Opportunity for the LOA PMAV contract, which consists of 53 work orders for a Planned Maintenance System (PMS) package that is required for the ship to be authorized to run equipment during its upcoming DSRA. The exception is due to urgency, the unique and highly specialized nature of the services, and the need for a logical follow-on to an existing order. The contracting officer has determined the anticipated cost is fair and reasonable. The contract is funded with FY24 OPN funds and the work must be completed to support the ship's DSRA schedule and milestones. There are no set-aside requirements, and the NAICS code is 336611 - Ship Building and Repairing, with a PSC of J999-P - Non-Nuclear Ship Repair (West).
