About this opportunity
Military Sealift Command is soliciting an eductor assembly and related nozzles for the USNS SACAGAWEA (T-AKE 2), with proposals due August 24 at 10:00 AM. This is a sole-source procurement under simplified acquisition authority; the contracting officer has determined that AQUA-CHEM INC. is the only reasonably available source based on exclusive proprietary rights to the equipment drawings, standardization requirements to maintain fleet baseline configuration across T-AKE 1 through T-AKE 14 vessels, and mission-readiness urgency (requirement identified July 5, delivery required August 25).
Place of performance: contractor facility with delivery to Military Sealift Command BATS in San Diego, California (DoDAAC N40443). Inspection and acceptance occur at both the contractor facility and destination.
The procurement consists of three firm fixed-price line items: Eductor Assembly (Part Number 505-07589-000, quantity 2), Brine Eductor Nozzle (Part Number 934-08485-002, quantity 2), and Air Eductor Nozzle (Part Number 934-08485-014, quantity 2). Equipment is for use in Distilling Plants 1 and 2. NAICS 332410 (Power Boiler and Heat Exchanger Manufacturing); PSC 4410 (Industrial Boilers). The procurement is unrestricted and not designated as critical ship equipment.
Mandatory compliance includes DFARS Item Unique Identification (252.211-7003), MIL-STD 129R packaging and marking, and duty-free entry processing via PIEE. The contractor must provide 48-hour advance shipment notice to MSCPAC_BATS@us.navy.mil including contract number, requisition number, quantity, weight, and dimensions. Invoices must be submitted through Wide Area Workflow (WAWF). Contact: Haley Rolince, 564-226-4563.
