About this opportunity
The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD), Patuxent River, Maryland, intends to award a sole-source task order to Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), Newport News, Virginia, for United States Marine Corps Burmese Chase 2026 Joint Terminal Attack Controller training, with a response deadline of July 17, 2026. This is a Firm-Fixed Price task order under the Terminal Attack Controller Training (TACT) Multiple Award-Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract pursued as an Exception to Fair Opportunity under FAR 16.507-6(b)(2) based on unique and highly specialized service requirements.
Performance occurs at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where the contractor will provide contractor-owned and operated turboprop aircraft, aircrew, maintenance personnel, and support services to conduct dry and live Contracted Close Air Support training. The requirement includes high-performance turboprop aircraft capable of supporting Type 1 and Type 2 controls, Night Vision Device-aided operations, live ordnance delivery profiles utilizing MK-76 and/or BDU-33 training munitions, and sustained Time on Station to support multiple overlapping training flows.
The Period of Performance runs from July 27, 2026, to July 26, 2027. The estimated contract value is $755,010.00, funded through Operations & Maintenance, Marine Corps (O&M-MC) account, supporting 38 flight hours and reimbursable elements. The Navy cites ATAC as the sole contractor with Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division-approved subcontractor agreements and vendor relationships capable of meeting requirements, and notes that onboarding alternative sources would create unacceptable schedule delays jeopardizing the critical training window.
