About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has issued a Special Notice indicating its intent to renew an existing lease for office space in Destrehan, Louisiana without conducting full and open competition. This notice, posted on April 23, 2026, represents a procurement action for real estate services under the Lessors of Nonresidential Buildings category (NAICS 531120). The renewal will utilize the agency's existing lease authority rather than opening the opportunity to competitive bidding from the general marketplace. Interested parties are encouraged to contact the designated realty specialist for further information and to submit potential locations for consideration.
The Government seeks to lease office and related space comprising between 10,109 and 10,641 ANSI/BOMA square feet, along with 12 adjacent parking spaces, all within a specifically delineated geographic area encompassing portions of Destrehan and surrounding communities in Louisiana. All services, supplies, utilities, partitioning, and tenant alterations must be included in the rental consideration. Potential landlords or property managers must submit location offerings or expressions of interest by May 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Central Standard Time to Andrew Johnson, Realty Specialist, at the Minneapolis-based USDA office; submissions from non-owners must include written authorization from the property owner. While this procurement does not employ a small business set-aside, it remains open to qualified property owners and managers who can provide compliant space within the specified geographic boundaries and meet the square footage and amenity requirements.
