About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard, under the Department of Homeland Security, has published a Special Notice for the procurement of fuel oil purifier parts for the USCGC Sycamore. This is a Total Small Business set-aside opportunity posted on January 5, 2026, with a proposal due date of January 12, 2026. The procurement is being conducted through a JOTFOC Statement of Work and relates to repairs needed on the vessel's fuel oil purification system. The parts are required to address a persistent leakage issue that remained unresolved following major service work performed by an Alfa Laval technician. The opportunity is categorized under Ship Building and Repairing (NAICS 336611) and Miscellaneous Ship and Marine Equipment (PSC 2090).
The primary objective is to supply 12 specific replacement parts for the USCGC Sycamore's fuel oil purifier, including a solenoid valve block, bowl spindle, major service kit, 3-way valve, distributing cover, and six gravity discs. Contractors must meet the performance deadline of approximately 90 days, with delivery requested by March 23, 2026, at the vessel's location in Newport, Rhode Island. Eligibility is limited to small businesses as this is a Total Small Business set-aside, which restricts participation to entities meeting Small Business Administration size standards for their respective NAICS classification. No special qualifications, security clearances, or base access requirements are specified. Interested contractors should contact CWO Frank Levitsky at (267) 374-9161 or Frank.C.Levitsky@uscg.mil, with additional support available from ENS Marcos Saldarriaga.
