About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Detroit is seeking a contractor to repair a malfunctioning Dover Rota Flow hydraulic elevator that was installed in September 1986 and serves three floors with a 2,000-pound capacity. The elevator is experiencing oil leakage and difficulty reaching the third floor, requiring removal and replacement of the damaged packing assembly along with inspection of the hydraulic piston surface for potential damage that could affect new seals. The contractor must provide qualified personnel to perform work between 0700-1500 EST, Monday through Friday, and submit additional proposals for any detected damaged areas beyond the primary scope. This solicitation was posted on June 12, 2025, with a quote submission deadline of August 8, 2025, and all questions must be submitted at least three working days prior to the closing date. The project falls under NAICS code 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery repair and maintenance, with quotes required to include Standard Form 1449, company UEI number, Tax ID, and CAGE code.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations, though one government file indicates it may have been initially considered for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside. The estimated contract value is less than $25,000, and the contractor has a strict 30-calendar day performance period to complete all work at the Coast Guard Sector Detroit facility located at 110 Mt. Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207. The elevator serves critical functions including accessibility compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and transportation of heavy freight within the facility. The project timeline has been amended, with the Statement of Work updated on July 15, 2025, and the solicitation deadline extended accordingly. While no classified information access is currently required, the government reserves the right to mandate Secret clearances for all contractor personnel if circumstances change during contract performance.
