About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking interested vendors to fabricate and deliver electrical shore tie cables for the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) program. Each cutter requires five cables, with each cable being three-conductor, 500 MCM enhanced THOF construction with MIL-C-246368/1 plugs on both ends. The plug-to-cable connections must be factory vulcanized, and the cable lengths are expected to range from 150 to 350 feet. Delivery locations include San Pedro, CA, Kodiak, AK, Seattle, WA, and Newport, RI. The USCG has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information from potential vendors on their capabilities, past experience, and pricing. Responses to the RFI must be received by August 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM EST.
This procurement is not set-aside for any specific socioeconomic category. The USCG has not provided any information about potential incumbents or current contractors. The pre-solicitation notice does not specify an award value or budget range, but it does indicate that each OPC requires a ship set of five cables. The period of performance for the contract is expected to begin upon award and continue until June 1, 2025.
