About this opportunity

The Federal Contract Opportunity involves the replacement of shades in the Air Traffic Control Tower at the USAF Academy, CO with an FAA rated automated film shade system. The contractor is required to provide all necessary materials and labor for the installation process, including the provision and installation of 24 spring-loaded FAA film shades, a touch screen master panel, and the necessary electrical work. The contractor is also responsible for maintaining a clean work area, protecting existing equipment, adhering to OSHA standards, and coordinating work schedules with the USAFA Project Manager.

List of products and services to be provided by the contractor:

  1. 24 spring-loaded FAA film shades
  2. Rapid Rise™ Series: #CD3-32HW (oper. 24 shades independently)
  3. Touch screen master panel with programmable shade/zone operation
  4. Central touch screen operation
  5. Installation by experienced, factory certified crew
  6. Removal of all packaging/work waste
  7. Electrical work including power to 24 windows units, control wiring, circuits, branch circuit wiring, and Cat5e for unit and controller hookup
  8. Maintenance of a clean work area
  9. Protection of current/existing equipment
  10. Adherence to OSHA standards
  11. Coordination of work schedules with the USAFA Project Manager
  12. Clean-up associated with the delivery and installation
  13. Removal and disposal of the old shades and any debris/trash generated by the work.

SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATION BUT INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY!  This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government.  All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.

The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 332510. The size standard for NAICS is 750 employees. 

The requirement is identified in Attachment 1 - Statement of Work_USAFA Air Traffic Control Tower Shades. 

Include in your capabilities package your UEI, Cage Code, System for Award Management registration expiration date.

Delivery and installation is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840.

We are interested in a small business that is capable of meeting this requirement.

Market research is being conducted to determine interest, capability, and socio-economic category of potential sources for the requirement.  The government requests interested parties submit a brief description of their company's business size (i.e. annual revenues and employee size), business status (i.e., 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, woman-owned small business, veteran-owned small business, or small business) anticipated teaming arrangements, and a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers.

All interested firms shall submit a capabilities package that explicitly demonstrates company capabilities-indicating examples of commercial sales-and product specifications related to this effort. Also indicate if you are the manufacturer or distributor. Respondents are further requested to indicate their status as a Foreign-owned/foreign-controlled firm and any contemplated use of foreign national employees on this effort.
