About this opportunity
The Department of State's U.S. Embassy Brazzaville is soliciting quotations for the design, conception, and delivery of a covered waiting structure for embassy visitors. The structure must be self-supporting and aesthetically suitable for placement in front of the embassy, measuring approximately 30-40 feet long and 4-8 feet wide. Key requirements include the ability to withstand humid tropical climate conditions, sustained wind gusts of 20 mph, and torrential rains while providing comfortable seating coverage for visitors awaiting appointments. The structure must be fabricated from metal, preferably powder coated or stainless steel to prevent rusting, with wood construction explicitly prohibited. The solicitation was posted on August 1, 2025, with responses due by August 18, 2025, though the attached government file indicates a delivery deadline of July 31, 2025. The procurement falls under NAICS code 33231 for Plate Work and Fabricated Structural Product Manufacturing and PSC code 9520 for Structural Shapes.
This solicitation does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. No incumbent contractors or potential vendors are identified in the documentation, with the draft order currently showing "NOVENDOR" in the company name field. The contract value is listed as $0.00 USD in the attached documentation, suggesting this may be a no-cost procurement or that pricing details remain to be determined through the quotation process. The structure will be delivered to serve the U.S. Embassy Brazzaville's visitor needs, with the place of performance being the Republic of the Congo. The shipping destination is noted as Washington, DC, though the actual installation and use will be at the embassy facility in Brazzaville. The procurement is managed by the American Embassy Brazzaville's GSO/Procurement section on behalf of the Facilities department.
