About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price purchase order to Fakouri Electrical Engineering, Inc. for UPS and PDU preventive maintenance services. The contract will support maintenance of uninterruptible power supply and power distribution unit systems at the DEA's El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC), which operates continuously on a 24/7 schedule requiring uninterrupted electrical power backup. The procurement is valued under NAICS code 811210 and is not designated as a small business set-aside. This notice serves as an advance notification of the government's intent to proceed with a sole source award rather than competitive bidding. The contract period is scheduled to run from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026, representing a one-year recurring requirement.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide market notification of the planned sole source procurement while offering other potential contractors an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. Interested parties who believe they can provide the required UPS and PDU maintenance services must submit capability statements to Jose Marin by August 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST. The government has not issued a formal Request for Quotation and explicitly states this notice is not a request for competitive quotations. Any contractor submissions will be evaluated to help the government determine whether to proceed with the sole source award or open the requirement to competition. The final determination on competition remains solely within the government's discretion, and if competition occurs, the award will be based on lowest price/technically acceptable criteria. The government reserves the right to reject all offers regardless of responses received.
