About this opportunity

The General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking to lease office space in Gardner, Massachusetts through a presolicitation notice posted on April 30, 2026, with expressions of interest due by May 15, 2026. The government requires exactly 4,177 square feet of fully serviced office space that meets stringent standards for fire safety, accessibility, seismic resilience, and sustainability. Prospective lessors must submit expressions of interest that include building details, floor plans, rental rate estimates (in both rentable and ABOA square footage), and contact information for the landlord or representative. The GSA will evaluate alternative space based on economic advantages, considering not only rental costs but also relocation expenses such as physical moving costs, tenant improvement replication, and potential agency downtime. Entities are required to comply with Section 889 of the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act regarding telecommunications prohibitions as implemented in the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and represents the potential replacement of the government's current office lease in Gardner, which is set to expire. The lease structure calls for a full 10-year term with a firm commitment of 5 years and an optional 5-year extension, though the notice does not disclose specific budget or award values. The government has indicated it will only pursue relocation if economically advantageous compared to renewing existing space, meaning the current occupant's lease performance and renewal terms will factor into the final decision. Offered space must not be located in the 1-percent-annual chance floodplain and must be available within a timeframe that permits the government to transition operations without disruption. This presolicitation notice marks the beginning of the procurement process, with a full solicitation expected to follow if the government determines that alternative space is economically viable.
