About this opportunity

The Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), a self-sustaining government corporation under the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons, has published a Special Notice inviting industry partners to an in-person Industry Day event. This no-cost event will be held on May 8, 2026, at FCC Coleman in Coleman, Florida, and is open to all companies with capabilities in comprehensive space planning and office furniture layout design. UNICOR's Office Furniture Business Group manufactures and provides high-quality, cost-effective office furniture and related services to federal civilian agencies and the Department of Defense while simultaneously providing job training and work experience to federal inmates. The event represents a market research opportunity for UNICOR to engage with industry partners and explore potential capabilities and innovations in the office furniture sector. This is a Special Notice for information and planning purposes only and is not a formal solicitation for contracts.

Interested vendors must complete both a registration form and a background clearance form (NCIC Criminal History Check) and submit them to peyton.perry@usdoj.gov by 3:30 p.m. EST on April 20, 2026, with the subject line "UNICOR Industry Day, Sales and Marketing." The Industry Day agenda runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST and includes a factory tour, FPI staff presentations, lunch, and one-on-one industry sessions limited to 30 minutes per company on a first-come, first-served basis. All attendees must be pre-approved and listed on the registration form to pass the facility's security checkpoint, and the event prohibits laptops, mobile phones, electronic communication tools, and recording devices. Eligible participants may submit digital presentations in PDF or PowerPoint format prior to the event for display on government computers, and UNICOR is particularly interested in vendors' space planning and office furniture placement capabilities, historical successes, and relevant experience. No gifts or giveaways are permitted at the event.
