About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces is seeking a UHF/VHF Radio Transceiver for ground-to-air communication at a fixed site requiring 24/7 power connectivity. The Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) has issued a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) to conduct market research for this procurement. Interested companies must submit detailed responses by 1700 HST on April 15, 2025, to Mr. Steven Taylor, providing comprehensive company information, experience with VHF/UHF transceivers, and details of similar government or commercial contracts. Respondents are required to limit their submissions to three pages and are explicitly prohibited from submitting cost or price data. The evaluation will focus on vendor capabilities, business size classification, past performance, and potential socio-economic classifications such as 8(a), HUBZone, or Veteran-Owned status.

The contract opportunity is set aside for total small business participation, targeting the NAICS code 334220 with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The anticipated contract will be a Firm-Fixed Price with an approximate 30-day delivery after receipt (ARO). Technical specifications for the radio transceiver include a frequency range of 225-399.995 MHz, UHF/VHF AM voice capabilities with 25khz or 8.33khz channel spacing, and the ability to output approximately 10W at 90% amplitude modulation. The system must have AC power capability for continuous operation and meet EMI/EMC certification requirements. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is specifically for the 15th OSS and will require connection to a UHF antenna with specific technical performance characteristics.
