About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command intends to award sole source to Motorola Solutions for conversion of UHF radios to VHF capability at NSA Souda Bay, with a proposal due date of July 24, 2026. The award rationale cites equipment compatibility with existing systems already in use by the Hellenic Air Force and civilian airport operators at the facility.
Place of performance is Chania, Greece. NSA Souda Bay is a US Navy apron located on a Greek civilian airfield within a Hellenic Air Force base; the surrounding airfield and military operators have converted all radio systems to VHF-only operation, and this procurement configures NSASB's existing radios for dual-band UHF/VHF use.
The Statement of Work requires development, production, and installation of three rack-mounted Barrett PRC-4080 VHF transceivers with docking stations, AC power supply modules, DC and RF cables, and operation manuals. The contractor must configure the Conventional Channel Gateway, test all equipment for proper operation, and ensure compliance with Greek and UN licensing requirements. Material delivery must occur within 90 days of order placement. Installation, training, and quality assurance work requires an estimated maximum of four working days on-site during normal business hours, excluding government holidays. The contractor must provide training to NSASB Air Department and N6 personnel and deliver short- and long-term technical assistance for troubleshooting and equipment repairs. All installation and training work must be performed by a Motorola-authorized technician.
The contractor arranges travel to Chania International Airport, vehicle rental, and hotel accommodations. Contractor personnel must register rental vehicles and submit base access information to NSASB VCC upon arrival. All delivery vehicles are subject to gate inspection; drivers must hold valid driver's licenses, current vehicle registration, and insurance. The government provides site access, AC power, authorized frequencies, R56-compliant grounding, and necessary permits for antenna mounting. NAICS 334419, Other Electronic Component Manufacturing; PSC 5821, Radio and Television Communication Equipment, Airborne.
