The solicitation (140G0225Q0055) requires a GPR unit with precise technical specifications, including a 50-200 MHz frequency range, weight under 10 kg, and over 50 minutes of operating time with an IP 65 environmental rating. Quotes are due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on April 22, 2025, and must be submitted electronically to Travis Herberholz. The evaluation will focus on vendors demonstrating full compliance with all specified technical characteristics through manufacturer-authorized documentation.
This solicitation is specifically designated as a Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 334519 for Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing. The GPR system will be used for bathymetric mapping of river bottoms through turbid water and aquatic vegetation at depths of 1-2 meters. The required delivery is 120 days after award, with a performance period spanning from July 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement is targeted at small businesses capable of meeting the complex technical requirements for specialized scientific equipment. The place of performance is the Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center, where the UAS-mounted GPR will be utilized for environmental research and mapping applications. Vendors must be prepared to provide comprehensive technical brochures and documentation demonstrating their system's capabilities and alignment with the USGS's scientific research needs.
