About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command is conducting market research to identify qualified commercial sources to operate the U.S. Navy Submarine Transducer Repair Facility (TRF). The TRF provides critical repair and restoration services for submarine acoustic sensors, including the annual production of approximately 22 shipsets of DT-100 hydrophones and the restoration, repair, and recertification of various other SONAR sensors. The selected contractor will require specialized expertise in acoustic sensor requirements, design, construction, restoration, repair, and recertification, and must have access to hydrostatic pressure and acoustic tank testing facilities capable of supporting up to 1,000 psi. Respondents are asked to provide capability statements, location considerations, anticipated teaming arrangements, and a rough order of magnitude cost estimate covering the recurring and non-recurring costs of managing, operating, and establishing the TRF facility.

This procurement is not set-aside, and the government has not provided any information on potential incumbent contractors or the anticipated contract value. The work is expected to commence in fiscal year 2027, with an anticipated manning profile of 500-600 hours per week to be performed in a facility sized between 3,000-5,000 square feet.
