Update #15 · Latest ·
The USCG has a requirement, particular to one manufacturer, to provide safe and effective replacement boats to Polar Icebreaker Class cutters with an estimated total price of [REDACTED]. Among the 250 operational cutters deployed worldwide by the USCG. Only two are equipped with Schat-Harding MRT 3900 davit for launch and recovery. The performance spectrum and capability of cutter-based boats are encumbered by shipboard interface systems with which they are required to integrate for launch and recovery. This J&A supports the sole source procurement for three Cutter Boat-Over the Horizon-IV (CB-OTH-IV) variant platforms that have demonstrated the desired
capability and will be used to meet the specialized launch and recovery requirements of the Schat-Harding MRT 3900 davit. The proposed vendor for the three CB-OTH-IV variants is:
SAFE Boats International, LLC
8800 Barney White Road
Bremerton, WA 98312
