About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is seeking to procure athletic jackets for its cadets through a pre-solicitation notice. The Department of the Air Force Headquarters Air Force Academy will acquire 1,600 men's and 700 women's athletic jackets manufactured according to USAFA Specification 370, which details precise design, material, and construction requirements. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and have capabilities in cut and sew apparel manufacturing under NAICS code 315210. The solicitation is structured as a market research effort to identify potential suppliers, with interested parties required to submit a comprehensive capabilities package including three past references, teaming arrangements, and contract details. Responses are due by April 21, 2025, and can be submitted electronically to wanda.farr@us.af.mil or by mail to the 10th Contracting Squadron.
The procurement is structured as a small business set-aside, with preference given to HUBZone businesses, woman-owned businesses, veteran-owned businesses, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. Jackets will be manufactured using government-furnished material (GFM) in USAF Academy blue, with an annual delivery deadline of April 30, 2026, and first article samples due 45 days from the contract award date. The size standard for this procurement is 750 employees, and contractors must provide a first article sample for each gender for review and approval. While specific award value is not disclosed, the contract involves producing 2,300 total jackets with precise manufacturing specifications, including specific sizing options ranging from Short to XXX Long for both men's and women's models. The jackets are a critical component of cadet in-processing and uniform requirements, necessitating strict adherence to the detailed military specification.
