The U.S. Forest Service seeks thirty-three Type 6 fire engine apparatus bodies, body-only configuration, for installation on government-furnished 4X4 cab and chassis, with proposals due September 18 and questions due September 1. No set-aside applies.

The apparatus body must be approximately 95 inches wide and constructed to withstand mountainous and rangeland terrain. Delivery occurs wheels-off-ground with on-site familiarization training within one month of delivery. The U. S. Forest Service (USFS) is soliciting a proposal from qualified vendors for thirty-three (33) Type 6 fire engines, body only configuration, to be installed on Government-furnished 4X4 cab and chassis. Scope includes chassis modifications and preparation, installation of the body, fire pump, 300-gallon water tank, warning lights, required graphics package, and all components necessary to deliver a complete operational unit. Apparatus must meet Forest Service national standard specifications, including compliance with NFPA 1900 unless otherwise specified. Proposal shall include delivery of each unit and on-site familiarization training. Vendors shall demonstrate their capability to produce apparatus meeting the requirements of the USFS, summarized in executive form.
