About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD) intends to award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition to CYAGEN BIOMODELS LLC for Turboknockout Gene Targeting Services. These services support NICHD's mammalian hematopoietic system research. NICHD asserts that CYAGEN BIOMODELS LLC is the only company capable of providing the needed services, which allow for the generation of conditional knock-in/out mouse models in a shorter timeframe of 6-8 months, compared to the conventional 10-14 months. This shorter turnaround time is important to support the lab's research projects and allow research trainees to start their work quickly. NICHD currently uses multiple mouse models generated by CYAGEN and needs to continue with their services to maintain consistency and comparability across the research.

This procurement is not set-aside, and NICHD is soliciting capability statements from interested parties by August 9, 2024, to determine whether to proceed on a non-competitive basis. The purchase order will be awarded under simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items, not to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. No specific award value or budget range is provided.
