About this opportunity
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility is seeking to procure five turbidity sensors for the USGS Water Science Center in Sacramento, California. The Request for Quote (RFQ) 140G0125Q0025 requires digital turbidity sensors with specific technical specifications, including measurement ranges of 5000, 10000 & 30000 NTU, SDI-12 compatibility, and stainless steel housing with built-in wipers. Potential vendors must be registered in SAM.gov and will be evaluated based on their ability to meet the detailed technical requirements outlined in the Salient Characteristics document. The solicitation initially began as a small business set-aside but underwent amendments that ultimately changed the competition to unrestricted. Interested vendors must submit their written quotes via email to Imani Tillman by December 19, 2024, at 9:00 AM EST, with questions accepted until December 10, 2024.
The contract is classified under NAICS code 334513 for Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing, with a size standard of 750 employees. The procurement includes not only the five turbidity sensors but also associated cable assemblies of varying lengths (including 50, 150, 200, and 245 feet) and two PC interface units with specific connector and power requirements. The anticipated contract award date is December 31, 2024, with a delivery requirement of 30 days after receipt of order. The total procurement will be performed at the USGS Water Science Center in Sacramento, California. While no specific incumbent contractors are mentioned, the solicitation indicates a precise technical need for scientific instrumentation to support hydrological research and monitoring activities. The equipment, including digital probes, connectors, and interface units, suggests a sophisticated scientific procurement aimed at enhancing water resource measurement capabilities.
