About this opportunity

The FDA Office of Acquisitions and Grants Services is conducting a sources sought market survey to identify vendors capable of providing a Triple Quadrupole Absolute XR Mass Spectrophotometer for the Office of Laboratory Operations and Applied Science. This instrument will support the Human Foods Program by enabling precise detection and quantification of emerging chemical contaminants such as PFAS and toxic elements in soil, produce, and agricultural water. The equipment must meet specific technical requirements including dimensions less than 450mm in width, dual orthogonal geometry, detachable ion source system, fast ionization switching capabilities, and compatibility with both GC and LC systems. Interested vendors must provide company information, NAICS code recommendations, size and socio-economic status, existing government contracts, domestic manufacturing status, and technical specifications. Responses are due by 1:00 PM Eastern Time on August 20, 2025, via email to the designated contracting officer.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designation and is open to both small and large businesses under NAICS code 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. No current contractors or incumbents are identified in the announcement, and no budget range or award values are disclosed. The procurement requires delivery of one newly manufactured instrument to a facility in Laurel, Maryland within 30 days of contract award, along with three-day professional training for 3-4 end users within 30 days of installation. The deliverables include system installation during standard business hours, one-year warranty coverage, and comprehensive software for acquisition, analysis, and data interpretation. This is strictly a market research exercise and will not result in any contract awards or reimbursements for vendor response costs.
