About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically VISN 22 Long Beach Network Contracting Office, is conducting a Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential suppliers for treadmill components for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The procurement seeks a Biodex Trainer Treadmill and NuStep unweighing system, or equivalent products, with specific requirements including a 400 lb weight capacity, comprehensive safety features, and biofeedback monitoring capabilities. The RFI is designed to gather market intelligence about potential qualified sources within NAICS code 339112, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. Interested vendors must provide detailed information about their business, including size status, manufacturing location, Buy American Act compliance, and federal contract holdings. The response deadline is March 24, 2025, at 12:00 PM PST, with submissions to be sent via email to isaac.shimizu@va.gov.

The opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, indicating that only small businesses are eligible to compete for the eventual contract. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is focused on medical equipment designed to support spinal cord injury veterans, requiring products with multiple harness sizes, specialized padding, and non-slip materials. The VA is specifically seeking products manufactured in the United States or meeting domestic end product requirements. The RFI is purely for market research and information gathering, with no guarantee of a subsequent solicitation. Potential vendors should note that this is not a formal solicitation, and responses will be used solely to inform the VA's acquisition decisions for future procurement of treadmill components.
