About this opportunity

The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa is soliciting quotations for chauffeur-driven transportation services from qualified vendors. The Department of State is seeking providers to supply morning and afternoon shuttle services for embassy personnel, with service requirements including one 60-passenger bus and one 15-seat shuttle in the morning, and one 60-passenger bus with three 15-seat shuttles in the afternoon, operating Monday through Friday with specific pickup and drop-off times between 7:00 AM and 6:30 PM. A critical qualification requirement is that all prospective vendors must be registered in SAM (System for Award Management) and must submit their SAM registration certificate along with their quotation to pretoria_contracting_office-dl@state.gov. The solicitation notice does not explicitly specify detailed evaluation criteria; however, vendors should expect that cost competitiveness and service reliability will be primary considerations. The deadline for proposal submission is March 30, 2026, providing a 10-day response window from the March 20, 2026 posting date.

This contract has not been designated as a set-aside for any particular business category, and no incumbent contractor or award value is identified in the solicitation materials. The estimated period of performance is six months, commencing April 10, 2026 and concluding September 30, 2026, providing continuity of transportation services during a critical operational period for the embassy. The place of performance is Pretoria, South Africa, requiring vendors to possess the operational capacity and local expertise necessary to provide reliable services in the South African market. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed in the solicitation notice, the scope and duration suggest a moderate contract value reflecting the scale of daily transportation operations for embassy staff. International prospective vendors should note that SAM registration for non-U.S. entities typically requires 10-15 business days for processing, necessitating immediate action to meet the March 30, 2026 submission deadline.
