Update #2 · Latest ·

A void (scour pocket) was identified in September 2016 during an underwater inspection near the left concrete gravity wall at the outlet works exit structure at Townshend Dam. The potential failures that could result from an increased advancement of the scour pocket could affect the structural integrity of the concrete gravity wall and the slope stability of the embankment material. The cause of the scour pocket is assumed to be hydraulic based.

This project consists of the following components:

• Dewatering the upstream conduit
• Removal of loose debris
• Drilling holes for dowel installation into surrounding concrete and bedrock
• Installing dowels and grouting into place
• Installing forms along front of "plug"
• Pumping concrete into the void
• Removing forms

This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 238110 with a Small Business Size Standard of $15 Million. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District.
