About this opportunity
The University of California Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is conducting market research to identify sources that possess the capabilities and experience necessary to provide a thermal scanning probe lithography system (t-SPL). The new t-SPL system will be used by LBNL's Material Sciences Division to utilize state-of-the-art nano-patterning techniques for developing lateral heterostructures of 2D materials and lateral superlattices. Key requirements include a scanning tip size less than 10nm and a tip heater temperature up to 1100C. LBNL is seeking responses to the attached Request for Information (RFI) by November 18, 2024, to be managed by the LBNL Procurement Department.
This procurement does not have a set-aside designation. LBNL is not naming any potential incumbents or current contractors. No award value or budget range is provided. The key numerical details are the scanning tip size less than 10nm and tip heater temperature up to 1100C.
Notice text
The University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is conducting market research to identify sources that possess the capabilities and experience necessary to provide a thermal scanning probe lithography system (t-SPL). The LBNL Material Sciences Division (MSD) focuses on research programs related to the discovery and control of quantum materials and systems, novel materials platforms for future energy needs, and the accelerated design and synthesis of materials and assemblies. A new t-SPL system is required at this time to utilize state-of-the-art nano-patterning techniques to develop a novel method for synthesizing lateral heterostructures of 2D materials as well as lateral superlattices. Please see the attached RFI document for details and response instructions.
