About this opportunity
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) for thermal imaging devices, specifically seeking vendors capable of providing the FLIR T1020 - HD Thermal Camera or a comparable alternative. This market research effort aims to identify potential sources for high-performance thermal imagers with advanced technical specifications. Interested vendors are invited to submit responses limited to five 8x11 pages, which must confirm their ability to meet the requirements and provide detailed product specifications. Vendors should also include their socio-economic categories and CAGE code information. Responses must be submitted via email to Eric Rode and Patrick Seas by February 25, 2025, with the understanding that this RFI does not constitute a formal solicitation and does not obligate the U.S. Government to issue a contract or provide monetary compensation.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate any specific set-aside designations for this procurement. The thermal imagers being sought include highly sophisticated technical requirements, such as a 1024 x 768 IR resolution, uncooled microbolometer detector, and advanced features like radiometric IR video recording and multiple color palettes. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned, the detailed specifications suggest a high-end technical procurement targeting precision measurement and imaging capabilities. The NAICS classification of Testing Laboratories and Services (541380) and Product Service Code for Electrical and Electronic Properties Measuring and Testing Instruments (6625) further underscore the technical nature of this potential procurement. The RFI suggests DTRA is conducting comprehensive market research to understand vendor capabilities and potential solutions for their thermal imaging requirements.
