About this opportunity

NASA's Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice for the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program regarding critical launch infrastructure operations and maintenance for Artemis Missions. The notice indicates NASA's intent to issue a sole source contract to SEAN ENGINEERING LLC of Cocoa Beach, Florida for acoustic pressure analysis services. The procurement falls under NAICS code 541715 for Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences and will utilize FAR Part 12 and 13 provisions for commercial items and services. Performance will occur at NASA Kennedy Space Center, with NASA/NSSC serving as the procuring center. The posting date is June 18, 2025, with a tight response deadline of June 20, 2025.

The primary objective is to conduct comprehensive acoustic pressure analysis on mission-critical infrastructure to predict expected impacts from launch and landing activities, specifically targeting potential damage from repeated SpaceX Falcon/Falcon Heavy and Starship operations near Launch Complex 39. The analysis will be conducted in two phases, focusing initially on the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and Pad 39B, with deliverables including technical analyses using Finite Element Analysis and Computer Aided Design, acoustic environment data, and bi-weekly status reports. Interested organizations must submit written capabilities and qualifications by 12 p.m. Central Standard Time on June 20, 2025, with oral communications not being accepted. The government will evaluate these submissions solely to determine whether to conduct the procurement on a competitive basis, though the decision remains at the government's discretion. The performance period is targeted from July 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025, with work conducted both at the contractor's facility and Kennedy Space Center.
