About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Naval Air Systems Command is seeking to procure inspection, overhaul, and investigation services for TF34-100A Compressor Inlet Temperature (CIT) sensors for the Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. The selected contractor must provide all necessary labor, equipment, and supplies to perform check and test, overhaul, engineering investigation, and beyond economic repair evaluation services for these critical safety items in accordance with relevant technical manuals and quality standards. The government is conducting market research to identify potential capable contractors to provide these services and has released a pre-solicitation notice with a draft Performance Work Statement. Interested parties may submit capability statements via email to the Contract Specialist by December 6, 2024. This procurement has a NAICS code of 488190 - Other Support Activities for Air Transportation and a PSC code of J016 - Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Aircraft Components and Accessories.
There is no set-aside designation for this procurement. The current depot source of repair for the A-10 engine components is the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) in Jacksonville, Florida, which does not have the capability to repair the CIT sensors. Notice text
This is a combined RFI/Sources Sought/Notice of Intent issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 on behalf of the Commander, Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD. This procurement is for TF34 Compressor Inlet Temperature (CIT) Sensor repair as described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Attachment 1, at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) located in Jacksonville, FL.
FRCSE is an industrial facility that reworks, repairs, and overhauls various aircraft, engines, and components. The FRCSE is the depot source of repair (DSOR) for the Air Force A-10 engine components. The TF34-100A engine powers the Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. The A-10’s primary mission is to provide close air support to the ground forces of the United States (US) military. FRCSE does not have the capability to repair CIT Sensors for the TF34-100A platform and therefore requires inspection, overhaul and investigation services for these components.
The NAICS code for this acquisition is 488190- Other Support Activities for Air Transportation. Although this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes, interested parties may submit capability statements via email to the Contract Specialist, Karen Harris, karen.m.harris36.civ@us.navy.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
