About this opportunity

The Department of the Army National Guard seeks three Tesla TI3000 GPU-24 Ground Power Units for lifecycle replacement on its UH-72A and UH-72B helicopter fleet, with proposals due July 21. This is a sole source procurement under FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsive Source), restricting competition to Tesla, Inc.

Place of performance is Camp Murray, Washington. The procurement requires Tesla TI3000 GPU-24 units specifically, as market research determined Tesla is the sole manufacturer capable of meeting the LUH-72A/B electrical requirements: precise 28.5 vDC output with fine-tuned Hz, Wattage, and Amperage regulation; 3,000 peak starting amps for high-torque UH-72B demands; and 46 amp-hours of continuous internal battery capacity for sustained avionics troubleshooting and off-site engine starts in austere environments. The total estimated cost is $33,661.77 on a firm fixed-price basis. The NAICS code is 336413, Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing; PSC is 1730, Aircraft Ground Servicing Equipment. This is a 100% Small Business set-aside RFQ under FAR Part 12 for commercial items. Award will be made to the responsive vendor offering best value to the Government based on conformance to RFQ requirements, with delivery FOB destination. The contracting officer will determine price fairness and reasonableness at time of award.
