About this opportunity

The Naval Air Systems Command (COMFRC Procurement Group at Patuxent River, Maryland) announced a sole-source intent to award a purchase order to Illinois Tool Works INC for proprietary Instron tensile tester accessories, with a five-calendar-day capability statement window closing June 7, 2026. The Fleet Support Team Materials Engineering Division at Naval Air Station Jacksonville requires OEM accessories for an Instron 68FM-300 tensile tester used for mechanical property testing of naval aircraft materials; use of non-genuine parts would compromise system integrity, introduce safety hazards, and risk damage to multi-million-dollar equipment. The accessories are available only through Illinois Tool Works INC and are not stocked in the Federal Supply System. The associated RFQ (N6852026Q1028) designates the acquisition as women-owned small business unrestricted and requests eight line items of Instron components with firm fixed-price pricing and delivery to NAS Jacksonville within 90 calendar days by September 30, 2026. The contract incorporates FAR and DFARS clauses including unique item identification requirements for five line items, mandates a one-year manufacturer's warranty at no additional cost, and requires FOB destination shipping with tracking. Payment flows through Wide Area WorkFlow. Technical inquiries are directed to Melissa Gatrost at 904-790-6387 or melissa.d.gatrost.civ@us.navy.mil. Though this notice is not a request for competitive quotes, responsible sources may submit capability statements to inform the Government's competitive procurement determination, which remains solely within Government discretion.
